Behind My Paintbrush
Anyone else binging Sex in the City? I’m fangirling so hard I made a painting about it and had to share it with y’all.

Helloooo to all my MWA ladies!
I promise I haven’t forgotten about you all. I have been working on so many new pieces that I am so excited to share with you all. The back-to-school rush is definitely when I receive the most commissions, as people are so excited to decorate their college houses and dorm rooms!
As I was working on one of my pieces this week, I thought it would be a great idea to share my “why” for creating it. This piece is definitely unique, but I think some of you all might be able to recognize some of the fabulous faces on it. :)
If any of you are like me, you probably binge-watched the Sex and the City series over quarantine last March! Trust me, when I say that I watched 5 episodes a day I mean it. I absolutely LOVE the styles of the girls in SATC. I mean who doesn’t love Carrie’s girly yet city-esque look?
When watching the show, I knew I wanted to paint the characters and try to capture their personalities in the show. Carrie, Miranda, Charlotte, and Sam are so different yet all bring a similar spunky energy.
The painting that I did of them was slightly abstract, but I focused on their facial expressions and postures to help bring the characters to life. As you can see (below!), I also used bright colors and touched some of my favorite trends such as hearts and neon acrylics.
This has become one of my absolute favorite pieces. Sometimes when I am making a lot of commissioned pieces, I forget to paint things for myself. This painting was MINE! I wanted to bring my room in my college house to life and I am so confident I was able to do that.
I hope you enjoyed my little backstory of one of my favorite pieces!
